We have a Big Ten Conference NCAA Men’s Basketball game on Saturday afternoon between the Illinois Fighting Illini and the Iowa Hawkeyes taking place at the Carver-Hawkeye Arena. The Hawkeyes are 14-8 (6-5) currently and are on a two-game winning streak after coming off an 86-70 home win on Tuesday against the Northwestern Wildcats. These teams do not face off against one another again this regular season.
The Illinois Fighting Illini have been doing a good job offensively this season as they are averaging 75 points while shooting a strong 45.3 percent from the field. They have been passing the ball at a good job this season with 13.5 assists per game so far. Senior guard Terrence Shannon Jr has led the way for the Fighting Illini as he is averaging 17.2 points, 5.2 rebounds, 3.1 assists, 0.4 blocks, 1.4 steals, and 2.5 turnovers in 31.5 minutes per game.

Their defense has been doing very well on this side of the floor as they are allowing 63.3 points per game up to this point. They have been applying a lot of pressure this season as they are averaging 5.9 blocks and 7.2 steals per game right now. If they can figure out how to score a bit better, they will be in a good spot heading into this game.
