How sportsbooks are handling the Bills-Bengals postponement

Monday Night Football stopped with 6:12 left in the first quarter

The health of Buffalo Bills defensive back Damar Hamlin is first and foremost in the minds of everybody, including top officials with the NFL. Hamlin was injured making a tackle of Tee Higgins on the third possession of Monday Night Football between the Bills and Cincinnati Bengals. Hamlin received medical attention for over 15 minutes on the field before being taken by ambulance to UC Medical Center.

An update Tuesday afternoon from the official Buffalo Bills Twitter account said that Hamlin was still in critical condition in the intensive care unit and the family issued a statement through Hamlin’s marketing rep, Jordon Rooney, thanking well-wishers. 

While teammates, players and fans wait for updates and wish for positive news, the NFL will have some decisions to make about Bills-Bengals, Week 18 and the fast-approaching playoffs. Executive Vice President of Communications Jeff Miller said on Monday night’s conference call that “Our concern is for the player and his well-being. At the appropriate time, I’m sure that we’ll have a conversation around the next steps regarding the game.”

With an indefinite timetable for the game to be played or canceled, sportsbooks are also waiting to see what will happen. What happens with future games and other bets (win totals, awards, etc.) will be decided at another time, but here’s what sportsbooks are doing for the Bills vs. Bengals game.
