The Houston Texas, 7-6 on the season, travel to Tennessee to take on the 5-8 Titans in a critical AFC South Division matchup. The two teams have yet to meet this season but will play two times in the next three games. The Texans come into this game after taking a beating at the Jets last week. The Titans, however, come in with momentum after scoring 14 points in the final four minutes to upset the Dolphins in Miami on Monday night. The opening kick is scheduled for 1:05 PM EST.

After playing a scoreless first half in less-than-ideal conditions at the Jets on Sunday, the second half turned into a nightmare for the Houston Texans in a 30-6 loss. The Texans high-flying offense has taken several hits in recent weeks, including the loss of tight end Dalton Schultz for two weeks and WR Tank Dell for the season, but it took the biggest hit of all Sunday when star rookie C.J. Stroud had to leave the game with concussion symptoms. Stroud fell backward and hit his head hard on the turf halfway through the fourth quarter and did not return. Stroud had struggled throughout the game prior to that, finishing the day just 10-of-23 for a season-low 91 yards. Veteran QB Davis Mills finished the game for the Texans.
“We’ll see how he progresses throughout the week,” Houston coach DeMeco Ryans said.
The Texans come into Tennessee looking to regain the form that has put them in position to earn a playoff spot this season. The Texans have struggled in recent weeks however, and they may be in trouble if Stroud is unable to go. In the last three weeks, the Texans are just 31st in the NFL in total offense. They are 25th in rushing and 24th in passing during this time. They have still been effective when they reach the red zone, ranked fourth in the NFL in turning red zone opportunities into touchdowns over the last three weeks. The Texans' defense has struggled a bit as well in recent weeks. Over the last three weeks, the Texans are 23rd in total defense. They have been excellent against the run in that time, however, ranked second in the NFL. They are a miserable 26th against the pass and just 20th in red zone defense over this same span. The Texans have not coughed up the football in this time, however, they are 3rd in turnover differential.
Key Injuries: QB CJ Stroud (head), WR Noah Brown (calf), WR N ico Collins (knee), and G Shaq Mason are all questionable. DE Will Anderson Jr. (ankle) is doubtful.
