The Orlando Magic (2-8) will host the Houston Rockets (1-9) on Monday in a battle between two teams in early contention for the top pick in the 2023 draft. Last season the these teams split the two head-to-head games, but Orlando did cover the spread in both contests.

Houston fell behind 68-49 to Minnesota on Saturday on their way to their sixth straight loss, falling 129-117 to the Minnesota Timberwolves. The Rockets were outshot 61.3% (49-80) to 47.6% (40-84) from the floor and 45.5% (15-33) and 42.1% (16-38) from three. Alperen Sengun had an efficient game shooting 8 of 9 from the floor, finishing with 17 points and seven rebounds in just 20 minutes. Rookie Tari Eason also had a nice game off the bench, shooting 6 of 8 from the floor with 17 points and six rebounds.

The Rockets are 25th in defensive rating and 28th in offensive rating. Houston's top three scorers are all younger than 23 years old, led by Kevin Porter Jr (19.7 ppg, 5.1 apg, 1.4 spg) and Jalen Green (19.5 ppg). Alperen Sengun leads the team with a 27.3 player efficiency rating and 9.9 rebounds to go along with 16.8 ppg. Rookie Jabari Smith (10.8 ppg, 6.1 rebs, 1.2 bpg) missed Saturday's game with an illness but is probable for Saturday.
