The Houston Rockets (6-4; 6-3-1 ATS) opened a three-game road trip this past Friday. After winning six consecutive home games, the Rockets suffered a tough 106-100 loss against the LA Clippers at Crypto.com Arena. Houston had a 99-94 lead with 2:16 remaining but couldn’t make a field goal when it mattered the most.

The Rockets shot 43.2% from the field last Friday. They handed out 24 assists but committed 17 turnovers. All five starters finished with a negative net rating, and Alperen Sengun had minus-17 despite leading the Rockets with 23 points. Fred VanVleet double-double with 19 points and ten assists, and Jalen Green added 20 points and five dishes. Green and Sengun combined for ten turnovers on the night.

Houston is arguably the most pleasant surp rise of the young season. The Rockets boast the fourth-best defensive rating in the NBA (108.4 points per 100 possessions), and their defense is 5th in effective field goal percentage (51.8%). On the other side of the ball, Houston is 16th in offensive efficiency (112.6 points per 100 possessions) and sixth in turnover percentage (11.9%).
