Houston Rockets at Los Angeles Clippers – 1/15/23 NBA Picks and Prediction

The Houston Rockets and the Los Angeles Clippers duke it out at the Crypto.com Arena on Sunday afternoon.

The Houston Rockets have been in a real slump as they’ve lost 14 of their last 15 games overall and they will be hoping to avoid a 10th straight loss after getting thrashed by the Kings in a 139-114 road loss on Friday. Jabari Smith Jr and Jalen Green led the team with 27 points apiece while Alperen Sengun scored 14 points with seven assists and four steals, but no other player finished in double figures in scoring. As a team, the Rockets shot 47 percent from the field and 12 of 37 from the 3-point line as they kept pace with the Kings in the first half, but that all changed in the second half where the Kings exploded for 70 points to blow them away in the end.

Meanwhile, the Los Angeles Clippers have been in terrible shape as they’ve lost seven of their last eight games overall and they will be hoping to bounce back after getting routed by the shorthanded Nuggets in a 115-103 loss on Friday. Kawhi Leonard led the team with 24 points, eight rebounds and four assists, Norman Powell added 18 points while Marcus Morris and John Wall each scored 16 points. As a team, the Clippers shot 47 percent from the field and 10 of 29 from the 3-point line as they got off to a decent start and took the lead into halftime, but they couldn’t maintain that pace and scored just 45 points in the second half to allow the Nuggets to pull away. Ivica Zubac had a rough night as he scored just six points on two of seven shooting while Nicolas Batum’s shooting struggles continued as he scored just three points on one of five shooting.
