In what has become an upside-down series, the Houston Astros tied the American League Championship Series at two games apiece in a one-sided win on Thursday night. The road team has now won each of the first four games of the series heading into Friday night's game five. The pitching matchup in game five will be a rematch from game one as the Astros' Justin Verlander (13-8, 3.22) takes on Rangers' lefty Jordan Montgomery (10-11, 3.20). The first pitch is scheduled for 5:07 PM EST.

The Houston Astros had the best road record in baseball this season and put that record to the test as they came to Arlington, Texas down two games to none in the ALCS. Following Thursday night's win, the Astros are now tied with the Rangers at two games apiece heading into Friday's critical game five. The Astros scored three runs in the first inning, highlighted by a two-run triple by Alec Bregman and, after the Rangers tied the game at three, scored four runs in the fourth inning highlighted by a three-run blast by Jose Abreu. Chas McCormick added another home run in the 7th and red-hot Yordan Alvarez knocked in three runs in the 10-3 win. Hunter Brown gave the Astros three critical innings of relief and the Astros bullpen went 6.2 innings without allowing a run.

Justin Verlander now gets his second crack at the Rangers to try and send the Astros home with a 3-2 lead in the best-of-seven s eries. Thus far in the postseason, Verlander is 1-1 with two quality starts. He has allowed 10 hits in 12.2 innings pitched allowing just two runs. Verlander has a 7.8 K/9 rate and a 1.18 WHIP with an ERA of 1.42 this postseason. The veteran righty is perfectly comfortable pitching on the road as evidenced by his 7-3 record this season on the road in 13 starts. Verlander has given up 65 hits in 76 innings on the road with an ERA of 3.20 while striking out 62 batters in 65 innings pitched.
