The Houston Astros fought their way back into the series in game 3 behind another excellent postseason start from Cristian Javier and timely hits from their stars to pick up the win and cut the Rangers' series lead t0 2-1 heading into game four. Javier continued yet another stellar start in October by going 5.2 innings and allowing just three hits to lead the Astros to victory. Javier kept the Rangers hitless through the first four innings before a single and a home run in the sixth inning ended his postseason scoreless streak. Javier was supported by two of the Astros' prime-time players, Jose Altuve and Yordan Alvarez. Altuve homered, singled, and scored twice while Alvarez singled and drove in two critical runs in the 7th inning.

The Astros will turn to righty Jose Urquidy in game four to try and knot the series up at two games apiece. Urquidy was 2-3 during the regular season with an ERA over five in 16 appearances including 10 starts. Urquidy has made one start in the postseason, picking up the win against the Twins in game four while going 5.2 innings and allowed three hits and two runs. Urquidy struck out six and walked one. Urquidy has made 13 appearances in his postseason career with the Astros including seven starts. He has a 3.64 ERA and a record of 4-2. Urquidy has not faced the Rangers yet this season.
