The New York Knicks play host to the Charlotte Hornets at Madison Square Garden on Tuesday night.
The Charlotte Hornets look to have cooled off from their five-game win streak as they are now hoping to avoid a fourth straight defeat after getting thrashed by the Nets in a 102-86 road loss on Sunday. Kelly Oubre Jr. led the team with 17 points, Terry Rozier added 16 points while Dennis Smith Jr. chipped in with 15 points and six assists off the bench. As a team, the Hornets shot just 37 percent from the field and eight of 30 from the 3-point line as they struggled to match the Nets from the tipoff and they were never really in the contest after getting outscored by 70-41 in a nightmare of a first half.
Meanwhile, the New York Knicks have been in red-hot form as they’ve won 11 of their last 12 games overall and they will be gunning for a 10th straight win after taking down the Celtics in a 131-129 double overtime win on Sunday. Immanuel Quickley led the team with 38 points, eight rebounds and seven assists, RJ Barrett added 29 points with 11 rebounds and three assists while Julius Randle tallied 31 points with nine rebounds and four assists. As a team, the Knicks shot 49 percent from the field and 15 of 41 from the 3-point line as they went back and forth with the Celtics in a wrestling match until the second overtime where the Knicks were finally able to gain some separation.
