Home Run Prop Picks, Predictions and Odds 9/12/22

Today’s MLB Home Run Prop Bets For September 12

Five different Astros hitters hit home runs yesterday as we look to one that didn’t for tonight’s picks. WagerTalk content contributor Kyle Kargel provides his daily home run prop picks and predictions for Monday, September 12 with odds provided by PointsBet.

Home Run Prop Prediction 1: Jose Altuve (+400)

Eduardo Rodriguez could be in trouble tonight against the Astros as there are various Astros hitters who have had home run success against the lefty of the Tigers.

Jose Altuve, Trey Mancini and Alex Bregman all have two career home runs off Rodriguez so let's roll with Altuve who has the best batting average against lefties this season out of the bunch. Altuve will also have the highest chance of most at-bats out of the bunch being the Astros leadoff hitter.

Comerica Park isn't known for giving up many home runs but with such a limited slate tonight we're looking for the ball to fly in Detroit.

Altuve has hit 13 of his 24 home runs on the road this season and also sports a .500 average against Detroit this season with two home runs so far. Get Altuve at +400 to hit a home run, but odds for the other Astros hitters mentioned are Mancini at +600 and Bregman at +475.

Home Run Prop Prediction 2: Bryan Reynolds (+320)

Bryan Reynolds has hit 21 home runs this season leading the Pirates as they head to the Great American Small Park coined by many in Cincinnati (real name Great American Ball Park) which has given up 186 home runs this season which is tied for most in the MLB.

Two of Reynolds home runs have come at Cincinnati so far this season and he's hit 13 of his 21 home runs on the road this season as well. He also sports a .269 average on the road compared to .239 at home. Most of his home runs came earlier in the season but he did hit six of them in August.

He and the Pirates go against Mike Minor tonight who is prone to giving up home runs allowing 20 in 90 innings pitched this season.

He allows righties to hit .313 off him and 16 of the 20 home runs he's allowed have come against righties as well. Get Reynolds at +320 to hit a home run but another Pirates hitter to consider is Ke'Bryan Hayes at +425.
