Braves third baseman Austin Riley has emerged as a serious threat to win the NL MVP award and rightfully so as his average sits near .300 while accumulating 30 home runs on the season so far.

He and the Braves recently agreed to a 10-year $212 Million extension based on his performance so far this season. He and the Braves get Nick Pivetta in Boston tonight who has been vulnerable to giving up the long ball. Riley is 3-9 with two home runs all-time against Pivetta.

In July and August Pivetta has allowed seven home runs in 29 innings pitched coming out to a home run allowed every four innings pitched. Riley had a big game yesterday in the Braves extra innings win over the Red Sox going 3-6 with a home run and five RBIs.
