Non-conference basketball continues on Tuesday with a matchup between the Hofstra Pride (6-3, 4-4 ATS) and the #21 Duke Blue Devils (6-3, 4-5 ATS). Hofstra just lost on the road to Saint Louis, going down 71-68 as 3.5-point favorites. Duke just dominated a home matchup against Charlotte, winning 80-56 and covered the 16.5-point spread as favorites. Tipoff is scheduled for 7:00 EST from Cameron Indoor Stadium in Durham, North Carolina, and can be found on ESPN2.

The Hofstra Pride are off to a 6-3 start, and were just in the midst of a five game win streak, until finally losing to Saint Louis on the road. The Pride were single-digit favorites in all of the five wins, with their best victories coming over Wright State and Iona. The game against Saint Louis was tight the whole way through, with Hofstra holding a one point lead with a minute remaining, before losing in the final moments. Hofstra got 29 points from guard Tyler Thomas in the losing effort.

Thomas is a 6'3 guard, and is 4th in the nation in scoring with 23.6 PPG. Thomas had a 40 point game earlier in the season against High Point, and leads the entire nation the made three pointers, averaging 4.3 makes per game. Thomas gets help from 6'8 Darlinstone Dubar with 17.7 PPG and 6.4 RPG. Dubar has scored in double figures every game this season, and scored 30 in the matchup against Buffalo. Duba r can shoot from the outside as well, he has 17 made threes on the season. Jaquan Carlos is the final double digit scorer on the team, he is a 6'0 guard adding 11.2 PPG and a team high 6.8 APG. Bryce Washington is a 6'4 senior guard adding another 7.7 PPG on the perimeter.

Hofstra is currently ranked 101st overall according to KenPom. They are better on the offensive end where they rank 80th in efficiency, and their defense ranks 139th in efficiency. The Pride play slow on offense, their tempo ranks 263rd in the nation based upon their average amount of possessions per game.
