Hitter Prop Prediction 1: Tim Anderson 1.5 (-115)

Chicago White Sox shortstop Tim Anderson is immersed in what’s easily been the worst season of his career with a .241 batting average and only one home run and 24 RBI across 477 plate appearances.

Anderson is batting .244 in September with no home runs or RBI across 44 plate appearances. He has fallen short of recording 2+ Hits + Runs + RBI in his last three and 8 of his last 9 games.

Minnesota Twins starting pitcher Bailey Ober is 6-6 on the season with a 3.67 ERA, 1.13 WHIP and 120 strikeouts across 122.2 innings of work.

Ober will be making his first start since August 27th when he was optioned to Triple-A after being bit by the longball one too many times.

However, Ober has absolutely dominated Anderson, holding him to 1-17 (.058) with no home runs or RBI and four strikeouts.

Ober will be laser focused on avoiding the minor leagues and it starts with Anderson as the leadoff hitter. Anderson has been ice cold, and I’ll gladly take and under 1.5 HRR at -115 odds here.

Hitter Prop Prediction 2: Corey Seager 2.5 (+105)

If not for Shohei Ohtani dominating as a two-way player, Texas Rangers shortstop Corey Seager would be the odds-on favorite to win the American League MVP despite missing seven weeks of the season due to injury.

Seager has a .344 batting average, 31 home runs and 92 RBI across 464 plate appearances. Most importantly, he has recorded 3+ Hits + Runs + RBI in his last five and 10 of his last 14 games.

Cleveland Guardians starting pitcher Lucas Giolito has 7-13 record on the season with a 4.89 ERA, 1.28 WHIP and 177 strikeouts across 163.2 innings pitched.

In two starts since joining the Guardians, Giolito is 0-2 with 13 runs allowed across only 10 innings of work resulting in an 11.70 ERA. Seager is 2-7 with a home run and three RBI against Giolito throughout his career.

We cashed an over 1.5 HRR ticket on Seager yesterday as he went 3-4 with a home run, double and three RBI. Now we get plus +105 odds on an over 2.5, which I’m ok with considering his batter vs pitcher against Giolito and recent hot streak.

Hitter Prop Prediction 3: JD Davis 1.5 Hits + Runs + RBIs (-130)

San Francisco Giants third baseman JD Davis is batting .251 on the season with 18 home runs and 68 RBI across 505 plate appearances.

Davis has been riding a hot streak in September with a .313 batting average, 3 home runs and 8 RBI across 37 plate appearances. He has recorded 2+ Hits + Runs + RBI in 4 of his last 6 games and 9 of his last 16 games.

Colorado Rockies starting pitcher Chase Anderson has an 0-5 record, 6.49 ERA and 1.53 WHIP with only 50 strikeouts across 68 innings pitched during the 2023 campaign.

He was hammered by the Giants in San Francisco during his last outing, allowing 6 earned runs on 6 hits across only 3.1 innings of work.

Anderson also faced the Giants in June and allowed 3 earned runs on 6 hits across 5.1 innings of work. Davis cleared his HRR total in both of those games with totals of 3 and 4. It’s rare to get a reasonable price for a 1.5 HRR over at Coor’s Field and we get a -130.

Davis has a great track record against Anderson and has been a solid form making this play a no-brainer.
