Hitter Prop Prediction 1: Giancarlo Stanton Under 1.5 Hits + Runs + RBIs (-130)
It’s been feast or famine for New York Yankees designated hitter Giancarlo Stanton who has 13 home runs and 33 RBI despite batting only .207 across 201 plate appearances. Stanton did record 2+ Hits + Runs + RBI in his last two games but has also fallen short of this total in 17 of his last 30 games.
Starting pitcher Justin Verlander gets the nod for the Mets on Tuesday night and is 4-5 with a 3.47 ERA, 1.16 WHIP and 70 strikeouts across 83 innings of work. Verlander has dominated Stanton throughout the course of his career, holding him to 3-20 with 10 strikeouts.
He has been lights out in July with a 2.08 ERA, .165 OBA & 21 strikeouts across 26 innings of work. Stanton has 14 hits in July and 6 of them have been home runs. Verlander has only allowed 9 home runs across 83 innings pitched and if he can manage to keep Stanton in the yard this will be an easy under.
Hitter Prop Prediction 2: Justin Turner Over 1.5 Hits + Runs + RBIs (-160)
Utility man Justin Turner is enjoying his first season with the Boston Red Sox as he is hitting .286 with a .835 OPS, 16 home runs and 64 RBI across 403 plate appearances. He has cleared 1.5 Hits + Runs + RBI in 22 of his last 30 games and gotten the job done in the long-term with 2+ HRR in 56 of 96 games (58%).
Atlanta Braves starting pitcher Charlie Morton is having a great season with a 10-7 record, 3.36 ERA and 119 strikeouts across 109.1 innings of work. However, he is coming off a rough outing where he allowed four runs on six hits across only 5.2 innings against the Arizona Diamondbacks.
Turner has crushed Morton throughout his career, going 7-24 (.333) with two home runs and two doubles. He will be coming in hot as he is batting .358 in July with four home runs and 21 RBI across 70 plate appearances. Based on how hot Turner has been and his track record against Morton, the juice is worth the squeeze on this play.
