Hits + Runs + RBIs Prediction 1: Teoscar Hernandez Over 1.5 (-120)
Seattle Mariners outfielder Teoscar Hernandez is having a solid season with a .745 OPS, 15 home runs and 50 RBI across 364 plate appearances.
Hernandez has been crushing left-handed pitching with a .293 batting average, .279 ISO and 6 home runs across 90 plate appearances. Eduardo Rodriguez is a southpaw he has clobbered, going 8-19 with three home runs and two doubles in his career.
E-Rod is coming off a brutal outing where he allowed five earned runs on six hits including two home runs in only four innings of work against a weak hitting Oakland Athletics team.
Hernandez has recorded 2+ Hits + Runs + RBI in his last two and 8 of his last 13 games before the break. He also cleared this total in all three games against Detroit in mid-May where he recorded 2, 6 & 2 HRR. This play literally checks all of the boxes for an over and the juice is only -120.
Hits + Runs + RBIs Prediction 2: Nolan Arenado Over 2.5 (+115)
St. Louis Cardinals third baseman Nolan Arenado is in the midst of an MVP-caliber season with a .283 batting average, 19 home runs and 62 RBI across 358 plate appearances.
He has cleared 2.5 Hits + Runs + RBI in three of his last five games prior to the break. Arenado has an impeccable track record against Washington Nationals starter Trevor Williams, who he is 5-13 against with two home runs.
Williams is having a forgettable season where he is 5-5 with a 4.45 ERA and 1.44 WHIP. He has been even worse in July with 7 earned runs allowed on 13 hits across only 11 innings pitched.
Williams maxes out around 5-6 innings of work, giving Arenado multiple looks against a bullpen that ranks 4th in ERA & WHIP with the second most home runs allowed.
We generally target 1.5 for the overs in this category, but considering his track record and the fact that we get +115 odds, we will take the over 2.5 HRR for Arenado on Friday night.
