Has the Super Bowl Ever Been Played Outside the United States?

There has never been an international Super Bowl, though the NFL has discussed playing the game in London.

“The priority continues to be to play Super Bowls in cities with NFL franchises,” ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported in October 2021, “but the league also has a strong desire to grow its brand internationally.”

The NFL’s International Series began with one game at London’s Wembley Stadium in 2007. It has grown into an annual multi-game showcase with at least three international games in all but two years since 2014.
