Hammer The Futures Markets For This NHL Team

An undervalued number presents a great buy-in spot

As we get closer to the midway point of the 2023 NHL season, this is a good time to look at some teams for some value in making futures bets. One team that certainly has caught my attention is the Calgary Flames, a team that I think has massively disappointed in the wins column to begin the season. Coming into the year, the Flames were viewed as one of the top contenders in the Western Conference, having made the playoffs last year. Right there tells you that they are pretty dominant in puck possession, which is a huge factor towards being successful. Goaltending is allowing 3.03 goals per game, which is about average. Their penalty kill has been outstanding, stopping 81.1% of opponents' power plays. Where they need to get better is the goal-scoring department. They score just 3.09 goals per game, which is low for getting 34 shots on net per night. They also have been lackluster on their own power play attempts, scoring on just 19.6% of them.
