Grizzlies at Cavaliers Prediction – NBA Picks 2/2/23

The Memphis Grizzlies invade the Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse to take on the Cleveland Cavaliers on Thursday night.

The Memphis Grizzlies have been in a real funk lately as they’ve lost six of their last seven games overall and they will be hoping to bounce back in this one after last night’s 122-112 loss to the Trail Blazers. Ja Morant led the team with 32 points, nine rebounds and 12 assists, Jaren Jackson Jr. added 18 points with seven rebounds and six blocks while Desmond Bane chipped in with 17 points. As a team, the Grizzlies shot 47 percent from the field and nine of 37 from the 3-point line as they set the tone with 32 points in the first quarter to lead for most of the contest, but they allowed the Trail Blazers to hang around and it cost them in the end as they allowed 38 points in the fourth quarter to fall short in the end.

Meanwhile, the Cleveland Cavaliers have been in a real funk as they’ve lost five of their last eight games overall and they will be hoping to bounce back after coming up painfully short to the Heat in a 100-97 loss on Tuesday. Evan Mobley led the team with 19 points, seven rebounds and two blocks, Darius Garland and Donovan Mitchell scored 16 points each while Jarrett Allen chipped in with 14 points, 11 rebounds and two steals. As a team, the Cavaliers shot 48 percent from the field and 11 of 40 from the 3-point line which was enough to hang with the Heat until they went cold when it mattered most, scoring just four points in the final 2:57 to allow the Heat to steal the game from them in close finish.
