Green Bay Packers vs. Minnesota Vikings Prediction, Preview, and Odds – 9-11-2022

Green Bay Packers (0-0) vs. Minnesota Vikings (0-0)

The opening week of the 2022 NFL season goes on Sunday, September 11, with the marquee NFC North matchup at U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis, Minnesota, so we bring you the best Packers vs. Vikings betting pick and odds.

The Packers open as slim 2-point favorites, and you can take them at -135 moneyline odds. The Vikings are +115 moneyline underdogs, and the totals are listed at 48.0 points. Green Bay and Minnesota split their regular-season set in 2021, while the Packers have gone 4-2 straight up and ATS in their previous six encounters with the Vikings.

After losing Davante Adams in the offseason, the Green Bay Packers hope Aaron Rodgers will build strong chemistry with his new-look receiving corps. Both Sammy Watkins and Randall Cobb own plenty of experience, but the Packers will miss Adams a lot, for sure. Over the last couple of seasons, Rodgers and Adams connected on a thumping 29 scoring passes, while Davante has accounted for 2,927 yards in that span.

At least, the Packers kept Aaron Jones and AJ Dillon, who combined for 1,602 yards and nine touchdowns on 358 carries in 2021. Jones is undoubtedly one of the most versatile running backs in the NFL, while Dillon’s powerful rushing is a great complement to Jones’ skill set. Last year, Green Bay ranked 18th in the league in rushing yards per game (111.8 ), and the Packers will try to use their ground game even more in 2022.

Green Bay will probably miss WR Allen Lazard (ankle) in Week 1. Tackle David Bakhtiari (knee) is questionable to play in Minneapolis, while tight end Robert Tonyan should be ready to go after participating in Thursday’s practice in a limited fashion.

“We love going into a hostile environment like Minnesota. Hear that annoying horn that they like to blow, and the Skol chant,” Green Bay head coach Matt LaFleur said Wednesday. “It's kind of the guys on that sideline, the guys in that locker room versus the entire stadium.”
