Green Bay Packers vs. Chicago Bears Prediction, Preview, and Odds – 12-4-2022

Green Bay Packers (4-8) vs. Chicago Bears (3-9)

Week 13 of the 2022 NFL season brings the NFC North showdown between the Green Bay Packers and Chicago Bears at Soldier Field in Chicago, Illinois, on Sunday, December 4, with the kick-off at 1:00 PM ET.

Green Bay meets Chicago for the second time this season. Back in Week 2, the Packers beat the Bears 27-10 as 10-point home favorites with a total of 42.0 points. Green Bay is a 4.5-point road fave this time around, while the totals are listed at 43.5 points.

The Green Bay Packers (4-8; 4-8 ATS) are coming off a 40-33 defeat at the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 12. They failed to cover a 6.5-point spread, while Aaron Rodgers, who already struggled with a broken thumb, suffered a rib injury and exited in the third quarter. Rodgers went 11-of-16 for 140 yards and a couple of touchdowns and interceptions, while Jordan Love completed six of his nine passing attempts for 113 yards and a touchdown in relief.

“The pain was tough,” Rodgers said. “I couldn't really breathe or rotate my upper body.”

The Packers allowed 500 total yards to the Eagles, who carried the pigskin 49 times for a staggering 363 yards. Green Bay rushed 21 times for 106 yards, and AJ Dillon led the way with eight carries for 64 yards and a TD. Aaron Jones had 12 totes for 43 yards and three receptions for 56 yards and a touchdown, while Christian Watson posted four catches for 110 yards and a TD.

Green Bay has gone just 1-7 SU and 2-6 ATS over its last eight contests. The Packers’ defensive unit has been banged up, struggling to stop anything on the ground. Green Bay now ranks 31st in the NFL in rushing yards allowed per game (154.8) and 29th in yards allowed per carry (5.0). Safety Darnell Savage missed Wednesday’s practice due to a foot injury, while LB De’Vondre Campbell (knee) was a limited participant.

The Packers hope Aaron Rodgers will be ready to go Sunday in Chicago. The two-time defending MVP has thrown for 1,085 yards, ten touchdowns, and six interceptions over the last five weeks while completing 61.5 percent of his passing attempts.
