The 2023-24 NBA season goes on Wednesday, January 17, with the Golden State Warriors taking on the Utah Jazz in the Western Conference showdown at Delta Center in Salt Lake City, Utah, with the tip-off at 9:00 PM ET.

The Golden State Warriors (18-22; 19-21 ATS) close down a four-game road trip which started with a 140-131 victory at the Chicago Bulls. Over their previous two outings, the Warriors have lost at the Milwaukee Bucks 129-118 and the Memphis Grizzlies 116-107.

The Warriors embarrassed themselves last Monday, losing to the injury-depleted Grizzlies, who missed six key players, including Ja Morant and Desmond Bane. Golden State turned the ball over 19 times and made just ten of their 31 attempts from beyond the 3-point line. Stephen Curry led the way with 26 points and eight assists, and Jonathan Kuminga double-doubled with 20 points and 11 rebounds.

“We played very poorly defensively, but a lot of that had to do with our offense,” Warriors coach Steve Kerr said. “Nineteen turnovers that turned into 30 points.

The Warriors are 12th in the Western Conference, a game and a half behind the No. 10 Los Angeles Lakers. Golden State scores 117.4 points per 100 possessions (13th in the NBA) while surrendering 118.4 points in return (25th). The Warriors’ defense ranks 22nd in the league in 2-point percentage (55.5%) and 24th in blocks per game (4.7).
