The Golden State Warriors (6-2; 4-4 ATS) stopped their five-game winning streak last Sunday, suffering a 115-104 defeat at the Cleveland Cavaliers. The Warriors bounced back on the second day of a back-to-back set and beat the Detroit Pistons 120-109 as 9-point road favorites.
Golden State went just 12-for-41 from beyond the 3-point line in Detroit. The Warriors outscored the Pistons 52-32 in the paint and forced Detroit into 16 turnovers while posting 17 offensive rebounds. Stephen Curry led the charge for Golden State with 34 points, while Chris Paul posted a line of 17 points, six assists, and five rebounds.
“That's been a point of emphasis for us this year — we're really trying to att ack the offensive glass,” Warriors coach Steve Kerr said. “Tonight was a very successful night in that regard — we were 12 for 18 on second-chance shots and we held them to six attempts. That's probably the difference in the game.”
The Warriors rank fourth in the league in offensive rebound percentage (29.1%). They are eighth in offensive efficiency (116.9 points per 100 possessions) and 14th in defensive efficiency (111.1).
