Giants vs. Yankees Predictions, Picks & Odds – Can New York Establish Dominance Early?iv class=”bodyContent col-lg-9 mb-3″>

Opening Day has finally arrived, and the championship-hopeful New York Yankees send Cy Young favorite Gerrit Cole to the hill to host the pesky San Francisco Giants on Thursday afternoon at Yankee Stadium. Here's Sportsbook Review betting analyst Neil Parker's top Giants vs. Yankees prediction based on the MLB odds from our best sportsbooks.

This will be the fourth consecutive Opening Day start for New York ace, and Cole's also the reigning MLB strikeout-leader. The imposing righty is coming off a solid string of spring starts with 27 strikeouts and a 3.32 ERA across 21 1/3 innings over his five outings.

Giants starter Logan Webb wasn't as effective in exhibition action.

He posted a run-of-the-mill 4.50 ERA and 1.61 WHIP through 18 frames over his five starts, but Webb will look to turn the tide in his second consecutive Ope ning Day start for San Fran.

Here is our best Giants vs. Yankees prediction (odds via DraftKings Sportsbook; pick confidence based on a 1-to-5-star scale).

Giants vs. Yankees prediction

It's going to be a touch chilly Thursday afternoon in the Bronx, and I'm not expecting the Giants to put many runs on the board. Cole tossed 5 2/3 innings in his final spring tuneup, and the American League Cy Young favorite limiting the ho-hum San Fran lineup shouldn't surprise anyone.

The Giants posted a middling 99 wRC+ and .308 wOBA while striking out 23.5% of the time against righties last season, and I expect them to trot out a worse offense this season.

New York has a deeper and more potent lineup, and the Yankees also scored the third-most runs (5.2) in baseball at home last season.

It's also notable that Webb hasn't been as sharp on the road during his career. The 26-year-old righty sports a career 3.01 ERA and 2.67 FIP at pitcher-friendly Oracle Park, but those marks respectively climb to 3.95 and 3.67 on the highway.

I've graded this with a two-star nod because it's Opening Day, and while I'm encouraged by Cole's form this spring, it doesn't mean it's going to immediately translate to the regular season.

Additionally, there's only a slight edge provided by landing the best number through DraftKings (-125) compared to the -135 odds via Caesars. It checks out as a short positive expected value of 3%.
