Green Bay had been the only franchise among the NFL's 32 teams not to have played a regular-season game in London since the international series started in 2007. That will come to an end Sunday when the Packers “host” the Giants at 9:30 a.m. ET at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium across the pond. Green Bay might catch a huge break as the Giants could have to start one of AJ McCarron, Jake Fromm or Davis Webb at quarterback. New York is an 8-point underdog a t Caesars Sportsbook and that's going to get to double digits if one of those players is under center.
Giants starter Daniel Jones injured his ankle in this past Sunday's win over Chicago and backup Tyrod Taylor suffered a concussion. Given the way the NFL is cracking down on the concussion protocol, you can probably rule out Taylor. Jones is considered questionable for now. He was hurt when his left foot got caught underneath Bears safety Jaquan Brisker on a sack in the third quarter. Jones had to leave but re-entered when Taylor went down, and the former first-round pick admitted afterward that he was in pain and his ability to move was compromised.
Webb is the only other quarterback on the roster currently. A 2017 third-round pick of the Giants, Webb has never started an NFL game and only took the field briefly in one game last year with Buffalo. He didn't attempt a pass.
“Davis been in our offense for quite some time,” Coach Brian Dabo ll said. “He knows the ins and outs of it, so if he has to play, we'll do everything we can, and I know he will, to be ready to play. In terms of where we're at at that point, I don't think we're at that point just yet to make a decision. We'll let this thing play out.”
