Two longtime rivals and roommates face off Saturday at 7:30 p.m. ET on NFL Network when the New York Jets “host” the New York Giants at MetLife Stadium, as we offer our Giants vs. Jets prediction and picks from our best sports betting sites.
The Giants are favored by 2.5 points to beat the Jets in this NFL preseason Week 3 matchup, which isn't expected to feature starters on either side.
Though this contest won't have any bearing on the Super Bowl odds for these teams, it could be an opportunity for reserves to make an impact – especially on defense.

If you've read our NFL preseason betting guide, you know that we aren't afraid of betting on a low total. This is one of the lowest o f the week – and for good reason.
Neither team is expected to play their starters on Saturday, which will mean a healthy serving of backup quarterbacks and skill position players. That's not an encouraging sign for two offenses that don't have a ton of depth behind their top stars.
We've already seen these teams struggle to score in the preseason, combining to average 29.5 points per game while both ranking in the bottom eight in total offense. And the personnel we'll see Saturday doesn't inspire a ton of confidence.
Given Aaron Rodgers' injury concerns, the Jets aren't expected to play him or backup Tyrod Taylor in their preseason finale. Instead, Adrian Martinez will start at QB before handing the reins to rookie passer Andrew Peasley.
Robert Saleh and Co. are still trying to figure out which running backs – and how many – they'll take into the regular season . That means we should see a heavy dose of fourth-stringer Israel Abanikanda on Saturday, which would not only bleed the clock but probably won't do much for his team's scoring outlook, either.
On the other side, the Giants surely won't subject Daniel Jones to another night of torture after his two-interception performance last week, when backup Drew Lock (hip) didn't play at all. That means we should see another extended run from Tommy DeVito against a Jets defense ranked fourth in pass defense this preseason.
It all adds up to a likely snoozer in New York between two teams that just want to get to Week 1 with a (mostly) healthy roster.
