It’s a second-round matchup on the hardwood as the ACC Tournament rolls on in the Tar Heel State. The 13th-seeded Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets try to extend their season one more day as they take on the fifth-seeded Pitt Panthers Wednesday afternoon. Georgia Tech advanced as they clawed out a 61-60 win over 12th-seeded Florida State in their first-round matchup Tuesday afternoon, failing to cover the line as a two-point favorite, in their previous contest. Pitt ended up falling short at #16 Miami 78-76 in their regular season finale Saturday, though they did cover the line as a 7.5-point underdog. In the all-time series between the teams, the Yellow Jackets own a 12-7 edge though the Panthers have won the last two meetings. That includes a 76-68 home triumph in the most recent meeting on February 21.

Smith (ankle) last played on February 11 while Maxwell (undisclosed) last saw action in the same game against Wake Forest. There is no timetable on either player so it is unlikely we see them here but watch for updates leading to tip-off.
