The 13th-seeded Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets try to extend their season as they take on the 12th-seeded Florida State Seminoles Tuesday afternoon. Georgia Tech ended the regular season with a 73-65 road win over Boston College, winning outright as a 4.5-point underdog Saturday afternoon. Florida State was pasted 82-60 on the road by Virginia Tech Saturday, failing to cover as a 10-point underdog. In the all-time series between the programs, the Seminoles own a 45-32 advantage, including a 75-64 home win in the lone matchup this season on January 7.

Georgia Tech closed the regular season with three straight wins as they went on the road and dropped Boston College in their last game Saturday. The Yellow Jackets improved to 14-17 overall and were 6-14 in conference play this season. Against Boston College, Georgia Tech led 9-0 90 seconds into the game and held a six-point advantage at intermission. The Yellow Jackets were outscored 25-10 in the first 10 minutes of the second half to trail 55-46 but rallied to even the score at 63 with 2:13 remaining. Georgia Tech closed strong from there, outscoring Boston College 10-2 the rest of the way to secure the win. The Yellow Jackets shot 41.9% from the field, including 11 of 29 from three-point range, and hit 10 of 13 at the free throw line to prevail despite playing only six players. Miles Kelly paced the Yellow Jackets with 21 points in the win.

The Yellow Jackets put up an average of 69.6 points per game offensively, putting them 229th in the nation, which is why the team has their ups and downs this season. Georgia Tech pulls down 35.3 rebounds per contest (151st) while dishing out 14 assists per game. The Yellow Jackets are 191st in the nation in scoring defense as they give up 70.5 points per game this season. Miles Kelly is leading the team with 14.2 points per game as one of two players averaging in double figures this season. Dallan Coleman (9.3 points, 2.7 rebounds) is a valuable secondary scoring option. Deivon Smith (eight points, 5.6 rebounds, 3.7 assists), Javon Franklin, Jalon Moore, Lance Terry (10.2 points), Kyle Sturdivant, Rodney Howard and Tristan Maxwell are guys that have to contribute for coach Josh Pastner. Georgia Tech shoots 42.4% from the floor as a team this season. The Yellow Jackets shoot 33.7% from beyond the arc as the team knocks down an average of 7.8 three-pointers per game. Georgia Tech is below average at the ch arity stripe as they shoot 69.5% as a team this season.

Smith (ankle) last played on February 11 while Maxwell (undisclosed) last saw action in the same game against Wake Forest. There is no timetable on either player so it is unlikely we see them here but watch for updates leading to tip-off.
