Florida State has been one of the most disappointing teams in the country this season, entering this matchup with a 4-11 record.
Georgia Tech has struggled with consistency this season, losing six of its first 13 games. The Yellow Jackets dropped their first three conference games, falling to North Carolina, Clemson and No. 13 Virginia. They were able to bounce back from that losing stretch with a big win over No. 12 Miami on Wednesday night. Georgia Tech overcame a six-point deficit with a 12-0 run in the final five minutes of the game, giving the Yellow Jackets their first conference win of the season. They held Miami to a season-low 35.3% from the field, with leading scorer Isaiah Wong notching just six points.

Gardner-Webb transfer Lance Terry scored 24 points for Georgia Tech, which was his highest total since joining the team. Miles Kelly had a big game as well, coming up one point of his career high with 20 points. Georgia Tech has relied on its defense this season, as it is sitting outside the top 200 offensively in 2-point percentage (48.2) and 3-point percentage (32.8). The Yellow Jackets have done a great job of protecting the ball, ranked No. 50 nationally in turnover rate. They are facing a Florida State defense that is No. 201 in adjusted efficiency. Kelly, a sophomore guard, is Georgia Tech’s only double-digit scorer at 14.5 points per game.
