The Georgia State Panthers (9-11, 5-10-2 ATS, 6-11 O/U) battle the Appalachian State Mountaineers (11-10, 9-9 ATS, 8-10 O/U) in a Sun Belt clash on Thursday night. The Panthers lost a road decision against rival Georgia Southern on Saturday. The Mountaineers recorded a solid road victory against Old Dominion in their previous action. Georgia State beat Appalachian State in two of three meetings last season.
The Georgia State Panthers are seeking just their third conference victory of the season. They beat Coast Carolina by a dominant 100-66 score but have since lost two consecutive games. Georgia State lost 70-58 against Old Dominion followed by a 58-52 road loss against Georgia Southern on Saturday in a bout that had them marked as five-point dogs. The defeat brings their conference record to 2-6. The Panthers have covered the spread in just two of their eight conference games.
Dwon Odom has missed the last two games due to an undisclosed reason. The sophomore guard is questionable for this one. He leads the squad with 14.6 PPG along with 4.9 RPG. Brenden Tucker has been inconsistent, shooting 40% or lower in three of his last four games. The junior guard scored 10 points on Saturday and is posting an average of 12.8 PPG on 39% shooting. Evan Johnson has scored double-digits only twice in conference play. The sophomore guard has reported an average of 10 PPG on 33% shooting.

The Panthers are ranked 230th in DI in Ken Pomeroy’s ratings and have yet to record a win on the road where they are 0-6. Georgia State has netted 58 or fewer points in three out of their last four games and is averaging 66.9 points on the year, marking them 308th. They are conceding an average of 64.3 points, placing them 50th.
