The Georgia Southern Eagles (2-0, 2-0 ATS, 1-1 O/U) battle the Wisconsin Badgers (1-1, 0-2 ATS, 1-1 O/U) in an inter-conference bout on Saturday afternoon. The Eagles remained undefeated after a home win against UAB. The Badgers posted a win against Buffalo followed by a road loss against Washington State in their opening two bouts.

The Georgia Southern Eagles head into their biggest challenge of the young season with confidence. They had no problem covering in a 34-0 win against The Citadel in the opener and were seven-point home favorites in a convincing 49-35 home win against a good UAB squad in their second decision. The Eagles are expected to be in the middle of the Sun Belt this season.

Davis Brin has been outstanding in the early going. The senior QB spent last year in Tulsa and has been sharp. Brin recorded 318 passing yards against UAB and has collected 562 passing yards with four TDs against two picks in two games. The running game has been just as good, recording 318 yards on 5.4 yards per carry led by Jalen White. The senior RB rushed for 125 yards in the opener and 40 against UAB.

The receiving core is solid led by Khaleb Hood and Derwin Burgess Jr. The junior WR already has 151 receiving yards. The Georgia Southern offense appears it is going to be a problem for opponents to contain, especially when conference play arrives.

The Eagles defense isn’t nearly as good as the offense. While they shut out The Citadel, the unit struggled against UAB, surrendering 477 total yards. This unit was one of the worst in the FBS last season, ranking near the bottom against the pass and run but are hoping the new defensive coordinator will guide them to improvement. They are marked 57th against the pass and 90th against the rush after two games.

Georgia Southern averaged 33.7 points last year, ranking them 30th. They conceded an average of 32.3 points, pegging them 112th.
