Once Upon A Time In Las Vegas – Divisional Round

The Georgetown Hoyas (5-14, 6-12 ATS, 10-8 O/U) meet with the Xavier Musketeers (15-4, 11-7-1 ATS, 13-5 O/U) in a Big East battle on Saturday afternoon. The Hoyas were hit with a road loss by Villanova on Monday. The Musketeers were stunned by DePaul in their previous action. Xavier posted a 102-89 road win against Georgetown last month.

The Georgetown Hoyas are seeking their first conference win. It’s been a disastrous season for the Hoyas who have yet to beat a power conference opponent this season. They lost 66-51 to Seton Hall last weekend and were competitive in a 77-73 road loss to Villanova on Monday in a bout that had the Hoyas marked as 13-point dogs. They are now 0-6 in Big East play due primarily to poor defense. The Hoyas have covered the spread once in conference play.

Primo Spears has been one of the few bright spots this season. The sophomore guard has reached 20 points six times this season and is sporting an average of 15.5 PPG and 5.2 APG. Brandon Murray has netted double-digits in five of his last six games. The sophomore guard has recorded an average of 14.7 PPG on 43% shooting. Jay Heath only scored eight points in Monday’s loss. The junior guard is posting an average of 13.4 PPG and has connected on 38% of his threes.

The Hoyas are ranked 229th in DI in Ken Pomeroy’s ratings and are winless on the road where they are 0-6 including a 95-73 loss to Marquette. Georgetown is scoring an average of 71.4 points on the season, landing them 189th. They have conceded at least 73 points in all but one Big East game and are squandering an average of 77.7 points, pegging them 345th in the country.
