A pair of former Big East rivals take the floor in non-conference action as a remaining member of the conference takes on one who left for the ACC in the Empire State. The Georgetown Hoyas are on the road as they make the trip to face the Syracuse Orange Saturday afternoon. Georgetown comes in off a 75-68 home victory over Siena in their previous contest Wednesday night, covering the line as a five-point favorite. Syracuse rolled to an easy 95-66 victory over Oakland in their previous contest at home Tuesday night, having no trouble covering the 16.5-point line. In the all-time series between the schools, the Orange holds a 46-42 advantage but the Hoyas picked up a 79-75 home victory in the most recent matchup on December 11, 2021.

Georgetown had dropped two straight and three of four before taking down Siena at home Wednesday night in their previous contest. The Hoyas stand 5-5 on the season entering this game and they look to climb back over the .500 mark by prevailing here. Against Siena, Georgetown held a one-point lead after a tightly contested opening half. The Hoyas trailed by four with 10:31 to play before reeling off a 13-2 run that put them ahead 65-58 with 5:40 remaining. Georgetown didn’t let Siena closer than three the rest of the way to earn the victory. The Hoyas shot 49.2% from the field, including five of 16 from three-point range, and held the Saints to 34.9% from the floor. Brandon Murray led Georgetown with 20 points and six rebounds in the win.

On the year, the Hoyas are putting up an average of 74.9 points per game this season, which puts them 139th in the nation in scoring offense.
