Big East basketball hits our television screens early on Saturday with a matchup between the Georgetown Hoyas (8-11, 1-7 Big East) and the Providence Friars (13-6, 4-4 Big East). Georgetown is coming off a tough home loss to Butler, going down 90-66 as 3.5-point favorites. Providence just picked up a strong road win over Seton Hall, beating the Pirates 67-63 and winning outright as 2.5-point underdogs. Providence won both conference matchups over Georgetown last season. Tipoff is scheduled for 12:30 EST from Amica Mutual Pavilion in Providence, Rhode Island and can be found on FOX.

When it comes to college basketball picks, our NCAAB Predictions are stellar.

The Georgetown Hoyas were showing signs of life in non-conference play, they were gaining momentum and matched last year's win total early. They began to lose that momentum once conference play started in the Big East. G-Town is 1-7 in league play, their lone win came at home over DePaul, and the Blue Demons are the only team in the conference without a win. Georgetown has now lost their last four games, most recently getting blown out as a home favorite against Butler. In that game, the Hoyas were led by guard Jayden Epps with 16 points in the loss.

Epps is a 6'2 sophomore guard who leads the team in scoring with 18.8 PPG. Epps leads the entire Big East in scoring, and is the team's top shooter with 30 made threes on 33.6% shooting from deep. Epps has scored 16 or more in his past four games, including a high of 32 coming against Xavier in a loss. Dontrez Styles is a taller guard who can score, the 6'6 junior adds 13.4 PPG and grabs 6.1 RPG. Styles had a double-double in the loss at Xavier with 14 points and 11 rebounds. Their best frontcourt player is 6'9 senior Supreme Cook, he scores 11.2 PPG and grabs a team high 8.2 RPG on the inside. Jay Heath adds depth on the perimeter, he is a 6'3 senior scoring another 9.0 PPG.

Georgetown is currently ranked 176th overall according to KenPom. They rank 94th in offensive efficiency and 291st in defensive efficiency. The Hoyas play at the 248th ranked tempo based on their pace of play. Joe Lunardi currently had seven tea ms making the NCAA Tournament from the Big East, but Georgetown does not make the cut.
