The George Mason Patriots are on the road as they make the trip to face the Dayton Flyers Saturday evening. George Mason comes in off a 70-66 home victory over La Salle in their previous game last Saturday though they failed to cover as a 5.5-point favorite. Dayton rolled to a 72-54 road win over UMass in their previous contest Wednesday night, covering the line as an 8.5-point favorite. In the all-time series between the schools, the Flyers own a 10-4 advantage though it was the Patriots claiming a 50-49 triumph at home in the most recent meeting on January 22, 2022.

George Mason won their third straight game as they took down La Salle at home last Saturday in their previous game. The Patriots improved to 16-12 overall and stand tied for sixth in the conference with an 8-7 record on the year. Against La Salle, George Mason led by as many as eight in the first half but saw their lead trimmed to one at intermission. The Patriots gave up a 7-0 run to start the second half to trail 39-33 only to battle back. With the game tied at 60 with 2:28 remaining, George Mason scored nine of the next 12 points to take a 69-63 lead with 13 seconds to play and hung on for the win. The Patriots shot 39.3% from the field, including five of 21 from three-point range, but won the game at the free throw line despite a mediocre showing. George Mason hit 21 of 34 attempts at the line while La Salle was five of 13 in the game. Josh Oduro led the Patriots with 25 points, seven rebounds and three steals in the win.

The Patriots are 226th in scoring offense with 69.7 points per game on the season. George Mason is 99th in rebounding by pulling down 36.4 boards a night while they hand out 14.2 assists per contest. The Patriots are above average on the defensive end of the floor, ranking 108th in scoring defense as they allow 67.6 points per contest on the year. Josh Oduro leads the team with 15.8 points plus 8.3 rebounds per contest this season. Victor Bailey (11.8 points, 3.2 boards), DeVon Cooper (10.6 points) and Ronald Polite III (10.8 points, 3.2 rebounds, 3.9 assists) each average in double figures. Ginika Ojiako, Davonte Gaines, Malik Henry, Justyn Fernandez, Devin Dinkins and Saquan Singleton are important pieces of the rotation for the Patriots. George Mason is shooting 45.5% from the floor this season. The Patriots knock down 7.7 three-pointers a night while hitting 35.8% from beyond the arc. George Mason is struggling at the free throw line as they cash in a putrid 63.8% of their chances on the year. That number is just 350th in the nation.
