George Mason at Auburn – 11/7/22 College Basketball Picks and Prediction

The George Mason Patriots will play the Auburn Tigers in a non-conference game on Monday night at Neville Arena in Auburn, Alabama.

The George Mason Patriots were 14-16 (7-9) last season and finished ninth in the Atlantic 10 standings. George Mason lost to Fordham by a score of 54-49 in the first round of the A-10 tournament and didn’t participate in any other postseason tournament. George Mason lost two key contributors from last season that accounted for over 23 points per game, but was able to get three transfers from other Division One programs. George Mason should be better than they were last season and is expected to finish in the top half of the A-10 conference.

The Auburn Tigers were 28-6 (15-3) last season and finished first in the SEC regular season standings. Despite winning the regular season SEC title, Auburn lost in the quarterfinals of the SEC Tournament to Texas A&M and lost in the second round of the NCAA Tournament to 10-seeded Miami by a score of 79-61. Auburn did lost Jabari Smith and Walker Kessler, but is bringing in Johni Broome from Morehead State. Broome averaged 16.8 points per game and 10.5 rebounds per game last season. Auburn should be good again this season, but don’t expect them to win the SEC again.
