Both teams come into the game at 3-5 in conference play. Both are on the wrong side of the bubble watch, but they also have plenty of opportunity to play their way into the field.'St. John's is having a relatively good season, but lacks quality wins over non-conference opponents. The Red Storm's identity is clear: they play fast. Their offense is not particularly efficient, but they want to get downhill quickly, and they are constantly around the rim.
Villanova, on the other hand, is really bad defensively. KenPom puts them at 158th in defensive efficiency. I know Villanova won the first matchup. However, they were down early at home, then hit a shooting streak at the end of the first half and beginning of the second half. Still, I think the Johnnies playing at home will outrun and overwhelm a struggling Villanova team that appears to be unraveling.
