St. Louis is 5-2 in their last 7 at home and has baseball's 6th best home win percentage. Home field advantage should bode well for the Cardinals as the Phillies have struggled on the road lately. With a great pitching matchup, home field may play a factor as well.
Zack Wheeler has been great this season but his splits do not favor road starts. Philadelphia has scored 3.3 runs per game in their last 10 compared to St. Louis' 4.3 runs per game in their respective last 10. With a couple of slumping teams coming into the playoffs, game 1 looks better for the Cardinals.
