Fresno State vs. UNLV Prediction, Preview, and Odds – 2-3-2023

Fresno State Bulldogs (7-14) vs. UNLV Rebels (15-7)

The college basketball betting action goes on Friday, February 3, with the Fresno State Bulldogs taking on the UNLV Rebels in the Mountain West Conference clash at Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas, Nevada.

The Bulldogs and Rebels lock horns for the second time this season, and UNLV opens as a firm 9.5-point home fave with a total of 132.0 points. Back on January 21, Fresno State upset UNLV 76-63 as a 3.5-point home dog.

That 13-point victory over UNLV is the Bulldogs’ lone win in seven games. Fresno State (7-14; 6-14 ATS; 3-7 conf.) is winless in three straight outings (Boise State 63-53, Utah State 70-53, and Wyoming 85-62), and the Bulldogs are coming off Tuesday’s heavy loss against the Cowboys on the road.

Wyoming outscored Fresno State 47-25 in the first half and never looked back. The Bulldogs shot just 37.9% from the field (7-for-25 from deep) and allowed 13 offensive rebounds while posting seven in return. Senior guard Isaiah Hill led Fresno State with 11 points and seven assists, while fellow senior G Jemarl Baker and junior forward Isaih Moore accounted for ten points apiece.

Fresno State is No. 202 in the NCAA NET Rankings and No. 182 in the KenPom rankings. The Bulldogs score just 99.8 points per 100 possessions (278th in the nation) on 50.8% shooting from inside the arc (190th) and 28.5% from downtown (355th). Fresno State leans on its defense, allowing 100.8 points per 100 possessions (98th). Still, the Bulldogs rank 320th in the country in opposing 3-point percentage (36.5%).
