Looking to build on a potential NCAA tournament resume, New Mexico hosts Fresno State in a Mountain West Conference game. New Mexico (20-9, 7-9) needs work to do, but is in consideration for an NCAA berth. Entering Monday, the Lobos were the No. 48 team in Kenpom.com's computerized rankings. They have lost two in a row following Saturday's 73-71 home loss to Mountain West leader and No. 18 San Diego State.

Fresno State (10-18, 6-11) would need to win the Mountain West Tournament to earn an NCAA bid. The Bulldogs are coming off Friday's 60-56 home loss to Nevada. On Jan. 3, Fresno State earned a 71-67 home win over New Mexico. That was the Lobos' first loss of the year after opening with 14 wins.

Fresno State is second in the MWC in scoring defense, allowing 64.4 ppg. The Bulldogs are 11th and last in scoring offense, averaging 61.5 ppg. Fresno State averages 102 points per 100 possessions according to kenpom.com, which entering Monday was 256th nationally. The Bulldogs allow 100.3 points per 100 possessions, which was 71st.

Isaiah Hill, a 6-0 senior, leads Fresno State in scoring (12.4 ppg.) and assists (3.68). Jamari Baker Jr, a 6-5 graduate student, averages 11.4 ppg. and 2.52 apg. Isaih Moore, a 6-10 graduate student who averaged 11.5 points and 7.3 rebounds in 20 games, has not played since Feb. 7 and is out for the season with a hip injury.
