Fresno State vs. Boise State Prediction, Preview, and Odds – 10-8-2022

The Boise State Broncos (3-2, 2-0) will host Fresno State (1-3, 0-0) in a Mountain West Conference meeting. Last season Boise State beat Fresno State 40-14 as a four-point road underdog.

Fresno State heads to Boise State 0-4 against the spread. After beating Cal Poly (35-7) in the season opener, the Bulldogs had two no-shame losses to Pac- 12 teams Oregon State (35-32) and USC (45-17). The USC went beyond one game, as Fresno State's starting quarterback Jake Haener had to be carted off the field in that loss. Last week the presence of Haener was desperately missed as the Bulldogs were upset 19-14 on the road as a 22.5-point favorite against UConn. Haener will not be ready for Saturday's game against Boise State either.

The Bulldogs are 103rd rushing for 124.5 yards per game. The passing attack is 27th averaging 287.8 yards per game, but without Haener that number isn't as relevant. In the loss to UConn, Logan Fife got the start at quarterback and went 16 for 22 for 157 yards and two interceptions. The Fresno State defense is 80th allowing 386.3 yards per game. They are 50th allowing 211 pa ssing yards, and 101st allowing 175.3 passing yards.
