It’s a clash of teams from the East Division of the SEC on the gridiron as they do battle in the Show-Me State. The Florida Gators are on the road as they make the trip to take on the #9 Missouri Tigers Saturday night. Florida was knocked off 52-35 on the road by #19 LSU in their previous contest last Saturday, failing to cover the line as a 15.5-point underdog. Missouri rolled to a 36-7 triumph over #13 Tennessee in their previous contest at home last Saturday, winning outright as a 2.5-point underdog. In the all-time series between the teams, the teams have each won six times with Florida picking up a 24-17 triumph at home on October 8, 2022.

Florida hung around but inevitably succumbed to #19 LSU last week in the bayou to suffer their third straight loss in the process. The Gators fell to 5-5 overall and stand 3-4 in the SEC, leaving them tied for fourth in the East Division standings. Against LSU, Florida was even at seven after the opening quarter, trailed 17-14 at the half, led 28-24 in the third quarter and trailed 38-28 after three quarters. The Gators climbed within three with 10:27 remaining in the game but didn’t score again as LSU put the game out of reach with a pair of scores. Florida was carved up 701-488 in total offense though they held a 27-25 edge in first downs and a 34:29 to 25:31 margin in time of possession. Both teams turned the ball over once in the contest.

The Gators are 26th in the nation in passing offense last season with an average of 278.6 yards per game while they are 89th on th e ground with an average of 138.7 yards per contest. Florida stands 52nd in the FBS with an average of 29.5 points a contest while they are 79th in scoring defense as they allowed 27.4 points a game. Graham Mertz is 247 of 337 passing for 2,720 yards with 18 touchdowns and two interceptions while adding four scores on the ground. Max Brown (six of seven, 50 yards) and Micah Leon (two of three, 16 yards) have seen limited action under center. Trevor Etienne leads the team with 106 carries for 628 yards and seven scores this season. Montrell Johnson Jr. (122 carries, 625 yards, four TD) and Treyaun Webb (26 carries, 163 yards, two TD) are next in line. Ricky Pearsall leads the team with 62 receptions for 876 yards and four touchdowns. Eugene Wilson III (51 catches, 479 yards, five TD), Arlis Boardingham (26 grabs, 289 yards, four TD) and Johnson Jr. (29 catches, 224 yards, TD) have each gone over the 200-yard receiving mark this season. Trey Smack is 24 of 24 on extra point attempts and 14 of 16 on field goal attempts with a long of 54 this season. Adam Mihalek is four of five on extra points and one of three on field goal attempts with a long of 32.

Tight ends Keon Zipperer (knee) and Jonathan Odom (concussion) are both out indefinitely. Wide receiver Caleb Douglas (leg) is out until late November while Andy Jean (lower body) has missed the last four games and is questionable for this contest.
