A pair of ACC programs do battle on the hardwood as they look to pick up a victory in conference play in the Empire State. The Florida State Seminoles are on the road as they travel to take on the Syracuse Orange Tuesday night. Florida State comes in off a 78-67 home loss to Clemson Saturday, failing to cover the line as a two-point underdog, in their previous contest. Syracuse edged Miami 72-69 at home Saturday in their previous contest, failing to cover the line as a 4.5-point favorite. In the all-time series between the programs, the Orange own a 10-6 advantage and have won the last two meetings. That includes a 76-67 road win in the most recent matchup on February 8, 2023.

Florida State saw their five-game win streak snapped as they were dropped at home by Clemson in their previous contest. The Seminoles fell to 11-7 overall and stand tied for second in the ACC standings with a 5-2 mark in conference play. In their game against Clemson, Florida State led by as many as eight midway through the first half before getting outscored 17-9 the rest of the half, sending the teams to the locker room tied at intermission. The Seminoles were down just one with 14:14 to play before giving up an 8-0 run that left them down 49-40 with 11:35 remaining. They never got closer than seven the rest of the way to take the loss. Florida State shot 40.7% from the field, including four of 18 from beyond the arc, and lost the rebounding battle 39-22 in the game. Jamir Watkins led the Seminoles with 15 points in the loss.

The Seminoles come into this contest averaging 76.6 points per game on the season, leaving them 127th in the country in the scoring offense department. Florida State pulls down 35.3 rebounds per game (207th) while handing out 12.9 assists per contest. The Seminoles are 238th in scoring defense as they allow 73.5 points per game on the year. Darin Green Jr. is second on the team with 12.3 points per game this season. Jamir Watkins (13.2 points, 5.8 rebounds, 3.1 assists), Primo Spears (11.4 points) and Cam Corhen (8.4 points) provide secondary scoring punch.
