Florida State at Notre Dame – 1/17/23 College Basketball Picks and Prediction

The Florida State Seminoles will head up to South Bend and face the Notre Dame Fighting Irish from the Purcell Pavilion on ESPNU. This will mark the 15th time these two schools face off, and FSU leads the all-time series, 9-5, after winning four of the last five matchups.

Florida State dropped to 5-13 after losing to Virginia in Tallahassee. The Seminoles trailed throughout the contest, but they managed to cover the nine-point underdog spot on the head. Florida State scores 68.7 points per game, while allowing 74.1 ppg, and shooting 43.3% from the field.

The Leonard Hamilton era is coming to a sad close, and it’s unclear if things will improve for Florida State this season. Sophomore guard Matthew Cleveland has done his part, posting seven straight double-doubles and leading FSU in scoring (14.4) and rebounding (7.7). UCF transfer Darin Green Jr. went for a season-high 30 points in the Orange Bowl Classic win over St. John’s, and he’s up to 13.7 ppg. Caleb Mills has been consistent, reaching double figures in nine of the last ten games, and averaging 13.3 ppg.
