The Florida Panthers face the Vegas Golden Knights in Game Five of the Stanley Cup Final. The Panthers won Game Three to make the series close but then lost the subsequent game and are one loss away from losing the series. The Golden Knights meanwhile bounced back in Game Four and one more win will allow them to hoist the Stanley Cup for the first time in franchise history. The Panthers look to avoid elimination while the Golden Knights hope to win the Cup and Game Five should be a great one.

The Panthers are on the brink of losing the series with their offense falling apart, scoring only nine goals in the series. Matthew Tkachuk and Anton Lundell have scored three goals and three assists while Brandon Montour is adding two goals and an assist from the point but the rest of the offense has struggled. The hope is that Aleksander Barkov and Sam Reinhart can step up in Game Five as they scored 54 goals and 91 assists this season but only have one goal and one assist in this series.

The offense has let the Panthers down but the defense, which allowed only two goals in Game Three, has also struggled, allowing 17 goals in the series. Brandon Montour, Gustav Forsling, and Aaron Ekblad have led the top two pairings but the rest of the unit has struggled, allowing opponents to find open shots on the net at will. In addition, goaltender Sergei Bobrovsky has struggled in the series, allowing 13 goa ls on 104 shots.
