The Florida Panthers face the New Jersey Devils with both teams having strong seasons but looking to improve from rough stretches. The Panthers have a 14-13-4 record and hope to improve after losing three of the last four games while the Devils have a 21-7-2 record but hope to bounce back from four consecutive losses. The Panthers are looking to make up ground in the Atlantic Division while the Devils hope to remain in first place in the Metropolitan Division and the upcoming game should be a good one as a result.

The Panthers have looked promising this season with their offense stepping up and scoring 3.32 goals per game. Matthew Tkachuk and Carter Verhaeghe have scored 29 goals and 35 assists to lead the top line but the entire offense has stepped up. Sam Bennett, Aleksander Barkov, and Sam Reinhart have combined for 22 goals and 41 assists while defensemen Brandon Montour and Gustav Forsling have added 10 goals and 34 assists from the point to open up the offense.

The offense has stepped up but the defense has struggled, allowing 3.26 goals with 13 goals in the last four games. Gustav Forsling and Josh Mahura have combined for 4.0 defensive point shares but the rest of the unit has struggled, allowing opponents to find open shots on the net at will. In addition, goaltender Sergei Bobrovsky has been awful this year with a .891 save percentage and a 3.33 goals-against average on 516 shots.
