The Panthers have a 26-23-6 record and with two wins in their last three games are in the middle of the Atlantic Division. The Wild have a 28-20-4 record and after a recent shootout win have improved to fourth place in the Central Division. Both teams look to continue to improve in their divisions and the upcoming game looks to be a great one as a result.

The offense has been great but the defense has struggled, allowing 3.44 goals per game. Gustav Forsling and Joshua Mahura have combined for 5.3 defensive point shares but the rest of the unit has struggled, allowing opponents to find open shots on the net at will. In addition, goaltender Sergei Bobrovsky has struggled with a .903 save percentage and a 3.13 goal s-against average on 991 shots with -2.6 goals saved above average.
