Florida Panthers vs. Los Angeles Kings Prediction, Preview, and Odds – 11-5-2022

Florida Panthers (6-4-1) vs. Los Angeles Kings (6-6-1)

The Florida Panthers face off against the Los Angeles Kings at Crypto.com Arena in LA, as the 2022-23 NHL season goes on Saturday, November 5. The Panthers open as -157 moneyline favorites, while the Kings are listed as +142 home dogs with a total of 6.5 goals.

Florida meets Los Angeles for the first time this season. The Kings swept the Panthers in 2021-22 and search for their fourth consecutive victory over Florida.

The Florida Panthers are coming off a 4-3 shootout victory against the San Jose Sharks this past Thursday. They bounced back from a shocking 3-1 defeat at the Arizona Coyotes, playing as firm -200 moneyline favorites. The Panthers blew a 2-0 lead, allowing the Sharks to take a 3-2 lead midway through the third period, but Carter Verhaeghe forced overtime with his fifth goal of the season. Matthew Tkachuk led the way for the Panthers with three assists, while Sergei Bobrovsky yielded three goals on 39 shots.

“It was one of those nights when it’s the goalie competition you know, especially the overtime and shootout,” Bobrovsky said. “I have fun in those games.”

Bobrovsky improved to 3-3-1 on the young season, and the 34-year-old netminder now holds a 3.03 GAA and .901 save percentage. He should get another starting call Saturday, while Spencer Knight (3-1-0; 2.53 GAA; .899 SV%) is projected to patrol the crease Sunday in Anaheim. The Panthers surrender 3.09 goals per game (tied-14th in the NHL) and score 3.00 in a return (20th). They own the worst shooting percentage in the league (7.5%) and the second-worst power-play percentage (5-for-47).
