Florida Atlantic (FAU) vs. Ohio U Prediction, Preview, and Odds – 9-3-2022

The FAU Owls (1-0, 1-0 ATS, 0-1 O/U) collide with the Ohio Bobcats (3-9, 5-7 ATS, 4-8 O/U) in an inter-conference battle on Saturday afternoon. The Owls went 5-7 last year and beat Charlotte 43-13 in their season opener last week. The Bobcats posted a 3-9 record last season and went 3-5 in MAC play. There are no recent meetings between these foes.

The FAU Owls have lofty expectations after a disappointing 2021 season. They lost each of their last four games and did not qualify for a bowl. Fortunately, they return many starters and should be in for a good season. They were 6.5 point favorites in a dominating 43-13 win against Charlotte last weekend. The Owls were voted to finish in 4th place in the  C-USA preseason poll.

N’Kosi Perry is a great talent. The senior QB spent his first three seasons with Miami Florida and recorded 2771 passing yards accompanied by a stellar 20:7 TD to INT ratio in his first year with FAU in 2021. Perry collected 256 passing yards last week.

The Owls also return Johnny Ford. The junior RB accrued 831 rushing yards last season and has the potential to eclipse 1000 yards. The receiving core is a strength as well. The top two receiving leaders of 2021 are back including LaJohn tay Wester. The sophomore WR had 703 yards last year and 66 receiving yards last week. The Owls' offense should have no problem scoring points all season.

The FAU defense isn’t quite as good as the offense. They do not return last year’s tackling leader and were not able to collect many sacks. The pass defense ranked 104th while the rush defense was 76th. They did limit Charlotte to just 62 rushing yards last week.

FAU scored an average of only 25.4 points in 2021, ranking them 87th. The defense conceded an average of 25.8 points, placing them 62nd in the FBS.
