Florida Atlantic Owls (4-5) vs. Florida International Panthers (4-5)

The Florida Atlantic Owls head to Riccardo Silva Stadium in Miami, Florida, to take on the Florida International Panthers in another Shula Bowl, as the 2022 college football season goes on with Week 11 matchups Saturday, November 12.

The Owls search for their sixth consecutive straight-up and ATS victory over the Panthers. Florida Atlantic opens as a 15.5-point road favorite, while the totals are listed at 54.0 points.

The Florida Atlantic Owls (4-5; 4-5 ATS; 3-2 conf.) are coming fresh off a bye, looking for their second straight victory. Back in Week 9, the Owls outlasted the UAB Blazers 24-17 as 4.5-point home underdogs, tallying their second victory in three games. UAB outgained FAU 472-369 in total yards and kept the ball in possession for 36 minutes, but it wasn’t enough. Senior signal-caller N’Kosi Perry led the charge for the Owls, completing 14 of his 25 passing attempts for 197 yards and three touchdowns while carrying the ball seven times for 50 yards.

“It's huge, that's a big win against a good football team coming in here and playing. We've got to build off of it, the confidence and momentum,” FAU head coach Willie Taggart said. “I thought we were efficient in what we were doing, and thought our guys did a better job of executing when we did move the football. N'Kosi managed the game really well and threw the ball well. UAB's defense is designed to not let you get behind them, and not let you be able to throw for so many yards on them. We knew coming in that was going to be a challenge for us but we did think that we had some opportunity to throw some balls down the field, and it was good to take advantage of that.”

N’Kosi Perry has thrown for 1,989 yards, 20 touchdowns, and five interceptions so far this season. Running backs Larry McCammon and Zuberi Mobley have combined for 1,351 yards from scrimmage and nine touchdowns, while sophomore wideout LaJohntay Wester leads the receiving corps with 50 catches for 572 yards and eight scores.

The Owls are scoring 28.1 points per game (tied-72nd in the nation) on 415.2 total yards (52nd). They are racking up 192.7 rushing yards per contest, enough for the 35th-most in the country. On the other side of the ball, FAU is yielding 25.7 points per game (65th) on 179.7 rushing yards (102nd) and 224.1 passing yards (62nd).
