Florida at Vanderbilt Prediction – Basketball Picks 2/25/23

The Florida Gators will head up to Nashville to meet the Vanderbilt Commodores in SEC play from Memorial Gym on ESPN2. Florida holds a slim all-time series lead of, 69-67, after winning nine of the last ten meetings.

Florida is to 14-14 after losing to Kentucky in Gainesville. The Gators led the Wildcats pull away after the break, and they fell by eight points, 82-74. Florida is scoring 71.3 points per game, while allowing 68.1 ppg, and shooting 43.7% from the floor.

Florida has played themselves out of postseason play by dropping five of their last six games, and after losing to Vandy at home two weeks ago, you have to wonder what kind of squad will show up in Nashville this weekend. The Gators are 7-8 in SEC play, with a 3-6 road record. Veteran forward Collin Castleton was on a tear before going down with an injury, and if he misses a third straight game this weekend, Florida will likely struggle again.  Consistent production beyond Castleton has been hard to find, but sophomore guard Kowacie Reeves has scored 13 points or more in three of the last four games.
